Post Level 1 guy at Nolani Academy???

I was playing with some friends last night and there was a level 1 character running around Nolani Academy trying to join every group. Of course, he kept getting rejected because nobody wanted a dead hunk of meat on their team. (He was getting fairly angry and rude too.)

My question is: How the heck does someone make it to Nolani Academy and STILL be level 1?????

I thought you had to be level 3 or so just to go Post-Sear. Has this changed?

Also, is it possible to reach Nolani without doing the quests? The quests alone should have leveled him up quite a bit.

My only reasoning is that he joined a higher level group that walked all the way from Post-Sear Ascalon to Nolani and fought the battles for him. That still doesn't explain getting to Post-Sear.

Is this possible at all? Or is some sort of cheating going on???

The only requirement to leaving PSA now is that you have two professions - this person most likely had someone running them through the EAs. All you have to do is stand around at the entrance while someone else sprints through, when they zone into the next area, you automatically get dragged along.

I have heard of a guy who hit the ascension quest and went from lvl 3 -> 20. Supposedly he had a high level friend carry him through and he just stayed out of the way. I heard this in-game though, so who knows how reliable it is.

It's reliable, trust me. I think she posted it on guild-hall.net forums.. can take a gander there.

A level 1 would get totally raped in Post-Sear. Of course nobody wanted him.

Post You still get group xp, he should have leveled up.

So I guess it TECHNICALLY possible, but you sure have to try hard. He would still have received xp from any friends fighting for him, even if he did stay at the entrance point.

I guess I was unaware of the Post-Sear rules changes. My bad on that one!

I'm not sure of the gameplay value of doing that. Nobody wants to group with you. It must be a weird personal goal or something.

It's completely feasible.
While I was level 20 before ascension anyway, even post ascension, I helped drag friends to different places quickly that they might not have managed alone.

Illusion of Haste + Mantra of Frost + Illusion of Weakness and I got us to Marhaan's Grotto through droves of those ice-element imps with little trouble at all. (poor little mesmer me, and I still managed it >.>)

And friends have done the same for me, when I had no clue where somewhere was, I could just AFK and let them take me there.

To the extreme, with a devoted friend/partner, I could imagine doing it all with ease. And I've skipped 2 missions before being lost through explorable areas, so that's pretty easy to manage as well.

Can't imagine trying to fight your mirror self still at a low level though, unless you had highly self destructive skills, although how you'd get them at a low level without completing many quests or missions to get them, once again, doesn't seem quite so easy.

However, easy and impossible are far from the same.

I have a level 2 character in Amnoon Oasis. I got rushed there by guildies and waiting for them to do the ascension missions for me.

Just curious, what satisfaction do you find in doing this?

I just want to understand, no flame intended.

Nothing I hate more than a low level character towards the ascention and in ascention missions that I constantly have to heal because they not only are leaching, but decide they can tank at level 15 with default armor.

How is it possible for such a low level to defeat the mirror?

Mirror is always level 20, right?

And if you can't do that, you can't ascend...right?

Answering two questions with this:

Satisfaction---not having to repeat yourself and only need PvP

Mirror-- I don't know about the guy at level 2 in Amnoon, but she just pulled the ole trick of tap him with Empathy. Then dodge the arrows till he kills himself.

Guess it depends on profession... be interesting how a Warrior/Ranger would do it.

to leave pre-sear Ascalon you MUST be lvl 3 (the warmaster doesn't let you enter the academy otherwise).

I tend to think that lvl 1 Character outside Pre-Seared Ascalon are the Devs (i saw Voxy Voo one time at the Temple of the Ages (Necro lvl1))

It may have been a bug, I had someone ask to join my party once, said they were lvl one in the info, so I rejected the invitation. Then I got a pm asking why I rejected, and they explained that they were lvl 12. When I accepted them into my party, turns out they were lvl 12 and it was just a bug.

This has been changed, you only need to have two professions.
The only mission you have to finish is Sanctum Key, the rest you can proceed through explorables.

There is a thread with screenshoots and discussion about this in the Guild Hall forums.

If you had a high level friend carry you from Ascalon all the way through ascension, technically the ONLY mission you would HAVE to do would be Sanctum Cay, and the ascension quests. I find this completely and totally... ridiculous. are there truly people THAT lazy who want to be max level as quick as they can just so they can be at the top with everyone else? Personally you lose out on so many skills and skill points, not even a level 20 with basic skills could survive in some areas. It's simply ludacris and... well frankly a bit annoying that it can be done for the lazy players... They would still have to do everything anyway, so why not actually level up? It seems sort of funny, and abit like a 'cheat' so to speak, you gain all of those attribute points and become maxe level in a short time having someone run you though.

Just my random thoughts, sorry if I seem ranty... Long day, tired, Star Wars III, Ortho, etc etc.

Well said, Adaria. You miss out on so many things. Why would you want to just jump to 20 in RPG? Makes no sense. You don't get any skills or anything.
